Research into books, songs, and learning systems.

ProoProo develops publications, educational songs, learning materials, and prototype systems for language education—while keeping the boundary between a promising design and supported evidence visible.

About ProoProo

A company for careful translation from inquiry to use.

ProoProo Co., Ltd. is a research-informed education and publishing company founded in Tokyo in 2019.

We support publishing, educational product development, and the responsible translation of research concepts into practical learning resources. Our work connects language education, song-supported learning, multilingual materials, and carefully documented prototype systems.

We do not present a framework, prototype, or publication record as proof that a learning product is effective. Each public claim is written to match the evidence presently available.

How we work

Four disciplines, one documented path.

ProoProo treats design, production, documentation, and evaluation as connected but distinct activities.

01

Study

Define the learning question, review relevant sources, and identify what remains uncertain.

02

Develop

Shape books, songs, sequences, and prototypes around explicit educational purposes.

03

Document

Record design choices, content provenance, version status, rights, and intended use.

04

Review

Separate internal checks, user feedback, external review, and empirical evaluation.

A Review of Preliminary Studies on Song Utilization in Language Education and the Potential of AI Songs:

Case Studies in English, Chinese, and Japanese

English original · Japanese & Chinese extended abstracts

This cross-language review surveys preliminary studies on song utilization in language education and examines the potential of AI songs. It predates the formal proposal of Scientific Song Design and is presented as part of the research trajectory—not as evidence that a particular method is effective.

Research & development

Design systems that can be inspected—and eventually tested.

Our R&D work explores how learning content, music, sequencing, review, prompting, and measurement can form a coherent system.

Research orientation

Scientific Song Design

Under theoretical development and public consultation

Scientific Song Design (SSD) is a proposed interdisciplinary research programme for the systematic design, documentation, sequencing, and evaluation of learning songs and song sequences. ProoProo explores responsible applications of these concepts in publishing and prototype development.

References to SSD describe a design and research orientation. They do not constitute independent certification, empirical validation, or proof that a ProoProo product is educationally effective.

Song-sequence learning prototype

A current prototype examines 32 target words across two main songs and one review track, with timestamped records for accuracy, response time, prompt level, and short review playlists. Its purpose is to make sequence decisions and learning evidence more inspectable before larger evaluation.

Learning materials

Built around purpose, sequence, and traceability.

Programme areas are shown as areas of development. They are not presented as completed or validated commercial products.

Publishing programme

Research and professional publications

Books and editorial projects that make scope, sources, versions, and publication status explicit.

Active

Development area

Song-supported language materials

Language-learning content developed with attention to lyrics, pronunciation, rhythm, melody, target density, and intended learner use.

In development

Prototype area

Sequence and review systems

Prototype structures for ordering, recurrence, variation, prompt reduction, review timing, and learning records across multiple songs.

R&D

Rights & partnerships

Collaborate with a clear scope from the start.

Responsible practice

Credibility lives in the distinctions.

We distinguish design proposals, research-informed practices, prototype functions, and empirically supported findings.

01

Claim calibration

Promising concepts are described as proposed; effectiveness claims require appropriate empirical evidence.

02

Provenance

Sources, authorship, versions, AI assistance, and production roles are documented where relevant.

03

Rights & licensing

Lyrics, recordings, melodies, images, text, data, and third-party materials are treated as distinct rights layers.

04

Relationship disclosure

Organizational, intellectual, and commercial relationships are disclosed instead of being implied away.
