Study
Define the learning question, review relevant sources, and identify what remains uncertain.
Research-informed education & publishing · Tokyo
ProoProo develops publications, educational songs, learning materials, and prototype systems for language education—while keeping the boundary between a promising design and supported evidence visible.
A responsible translation pathway
Claims are labelled by evidence status—not by ambition.
About ProoProo
ProoProo Co., Ltd. is a research-informed education and publishing company founded in Tokyo in 2019.
We support publishing, educational product development, and the responsible translation of research concepts into practical learning resources. Our work connects language education, song-supported learning, multilingual materials, and carefully documented prototype systems.
We do not present a framework, prototype, or publication record as proof that a learning product is effective. Each public claim is written to match the evidence presently available.
How we work
ProoProo treats design, production, documentation, and evaluation as connected but distinct activities.
Define the learning question, review relevant sources, and identify what remains uncertain.
Shape books, songs, sequences, and prototypes around explicit educational purposes.
Record design choices, content provenance, version status, rights, and intended use.
Separate internal checks, user feedback, external review, and empirical evaluation.

This cross-language review surveys preliminary studies on song utilization in language education and examines the potential of AI songs. It predates the formal proposal of Scientific Song Design and is presented as part of the research trajectory—not as evidence that a particular method is effective.
The official display title above follows the author-supplied 2023 cover. The Books section of the linked J-GLOBAL researcher record may retain earlier title punctuation while its metadata is being synchronized.
Research & development
Our R&D work explores how learning content, music, sequencing, review, prompting, and measurement can form a coherent system.
Research orientation
Under theoretical development and public consultation
Scientific Song Design (SSD) is a proposed interdisciplinary research programme for the systematic design, documentation, sequencing, and evaluation of learning songs and song sequences. ProoProo explores responsible applications of these concepts in publishing and prototype development.
References to SSD describe a design and research orientation. They do not constitute independent certification, empirical validation, or proof that a ProoProo product is educationally effective.
Research context on Lingling Liu’s academic websiteA current prototype examines 32 target words across two main songs and one review track, with timestamped records for accuracy, response time, prompt level, and short review playlists. Its purpose is to make sequence decisions and learning evidence more inspectable before larger evaluation.
Learning materials
Programme areas are shown as areas of development. They are not presented as completed or validated commercial products.
Publishing programme
Books and editorial projects that make scope, sources, versions, and publication status explicit.
Development area
Language-learning content developed with attention to lyrics, pronunciation, rhythm, melody, target density, and intended learner use.
Prototype area
Prototype structures for ordering, recurrence, variation, prompt reduction, review timing, and learning records across multiple songs.
Rights & partnerships
ProoProo welcomes carefully scoped conversations with authors, researchers, educators, publishers, rights holders, and technology partners working in language education and learning materials.
Responsible practice
We distinguish design proposals, research-informed practices, prototype functions, and empirically supported findings.
Promising concepts are described as proposed; effectiveness claims require appropriate empirical evidence.
Sources, authorship, versions, AI assistance, and production roles are documented where relevant.
Lyrics, recordings, melodies, images, text, data, and third-party materials are treated as distinct rights layers.
Organizational, intellectual, and commercial relationships are disclosed instead of being implied away.
Founder & research leadership
Founder, Representative Director & Researcher
Lingling Liu is a language-education researcher whose work examines the design, sequencing, and evaluation of songs for language learning. At ProoProo, she leads research-informed publishing, educational materials development, and the responsible translation of research concepts into practical prototypes.
Her academic profile, publications, and research records are maintained separately on her academic website.
